information about deleting your data from iris
how to delete your data
- log in to your iris account
- open settings → accounts
- find the connected account you want to remove
- click disconnect next to the account
- confirm the disconnection when prompted
this immediately deletes the OAuth access token, refresh token, and connection metadata for that account.
for Facebook:
- go to Facebook Settings → Apps and Websites
- find "iris" in the list of active apps
- click "Remove" to revoke access
- confirm the removal
for Instagram:
- open Instagram and go to your profile
- tap Settings → Security → Apps and Websites
- find "iris" under Active apps
- tap "Remove" to revoke access
when you remove iris from Facebook or Instagram, your connection data is automatically deleted from iris.
self-service deletion is available from your account settings. for assistance, email josh@jclvsh.art with subject "account deletion request" and the email associated with your account.
what data is deleted
when you disconnect a channel, we immediately delete:
- OAuth access tokens and refresh tokens
- account identifiers (Facebook User ID, Instagram User ID, Twitter User ID)
- account metadata (username, profile information)
- page and business account connection data
when you delete your entire account, we additionally remove:
- account information (email, name, profile data)
- all campaigns and campaign settings
- all contacts and contact information
- email templates and AI-generated content
- email sending history and engagement data
- conversation threads and replies across all channels
- analytics and reporting data
- billing and subscription information (except as required by law)
note: messages already delivered to recipients (emails, DMs, posts) cannot be recalled. they exist in recipient inboxes and on third-party platforms beyond our control.
data retention
OAuth tokens and stored credentials are deleted immediately upon request. business data (campaigns, contacts, conversations) is soft-deleted on request and permanently purged within 30 days. we may retain certain data for a limited period after deletion for the following purposes:
- compliance with legal obligations (tax records, etc.)
- fraud prevention and security
- dispute resolution
- backup systems (automatically purged within 30 days)
third-party data
some of your data may have been shared with third-party services during your use of iris:
- SendGrid: email delivery logs may be retained according to their data retention policies
- Anthropic:data sent for AI processing is subject to Anthropic's data handling policies
- Stripe: payment information is managed by Stripe according to their privacy policy
you may need to contact these providers directly for data deletion requests under their policies.
